    Description

    Volunteer Dog Division Manager

    Volunteer Dog Division Manager

    The Volunteer Dog Division Manager supports the Dog Division's health and well-being to help save more lives! , The DDM supervises the Foster Mentors and is assisted by key Dog Division volunteers assigned responsibility for the various operational functions of Pet Haven’s Dog Division. The Dog Division Manager is supported by staff leadership and cultivates a strong dog pawsitive culture by supporting the following volunteers:

    • Dog Foster Mentors and Fosters
    • Dog In-Home and Boarding Respite Coordinators
    • Post-adoption coordinators
    • Dog Foster Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strengthen teams at Pet Haven by:
      • Collaborate with and report to the Operations Director to coordinate processes across both divisions
      • Communicating, explaining, and enforcing Pet Haven policies
      • Cultivating and maintaining a positive team environment
    • Plan and facilitate volunteer team meetings
    • Provide support and guidance to the following volunteers:
      • Dog Foster Coordinator
      • Dog Foster Mentors and Fosters
      • Dog In-Home and Boarding Respite Coordinator
      • Post-adoption coordinators
    • Review internal applications (foster, intake, transfer) and provide input when needed.
    • Provide guidance and input on any euthanasia decisions, bite reports, and emergencies
    • Communicate effectively, empathetically, persuasively, and professionally with Pet Haven volunteers and the general public

    Qualifications

    • Team leadership skills and experience
    • Computer skills, including email and internet access
    • Dog experience – knowledge of canine behavior and health
    • Experience as a volunteer with Pet Haven or a similar animal rescue organization

    Time Commitment

    Approximately 5-7 hours per week, mostly consisting of email, text, and phone support done remotely.
