Help Reduce Food Waste and Food Insecurity in Litchfield County! Seeking Social Media Coordinator

More than 40 million individuals, including 9 million children, are food insecure in the United States.

Grocery prices have jumped 12% in the past year; the sharpest increase since 1979.

The need for our work has never been more vital.

Food Rescue US is dedicated to eliminating hunger and food waste (keeping food out of landfills and reducing greenhouse gasses). We engage volunteers and food donors through our proprietary web-based app to directly transfer nutritious excess food to social service agencies serving the food insecure. Food Rescue US is a national organization with 45+ sites across 24 states and DC.

We are looking for a Communications Coordinator who can help raise awareness about our important mission to nourish our neighbors and protect the planet. This role is responsible for content creation and management for the site's social media platform, including national campaigns such as Food Waste Prevention Week and annual fundraising appeals.

The best candidates for this volunteer role have experience with Instagram, Facebook, and Canva.
