    Description

    Title: Grant Research Volunteer

Location: Long Island, NY / Remote

    Position Type: Volunteer / Unpaid

    Schedule: Flexible, Part-Time

    Position Overview

Pawsitive Possibilities Rescue (PPRI), a Long Island-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Grant Research Volunteer to help identify funding opportunities that support our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need.

As a foster-based rescue operated primarily by dedicated volunteers, PPRI relies on donations, fundraising events, and community support to provide veterinary care, training, food, shelter, and other essential resources.

This volunteer role will help us discover new funding opportunities, expand our financial support, and ultimately save more lives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research grant opportunities offered by foundations, corporations, charitable trusts, and other funding organizations.
    • Identify grants aligned with animal welfare, rescue operations, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and community programs.
    • Review grant eligibility requirements, deadlines, funding priorities, and application procedures.
    • Maintain an organized database of prospective grant opportunities.
    • Summarize findings and make recommendations to PPRI leadership.
    • Assist with gathering supporting documentation for grant applications.
    • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize promising funding opportunities.
    • Track upcoming grant deadlines and application statuses.

    Qualifications

    • Strong online research and organizational skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to evaluate information.
    • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and online research tools.
    • Ability to work independently and communicate findings clearly.
    • Interest in animal welfare and nonprofit fundraising.
    • Previous grant research or nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.

    What You'll Gain

    • Meaningful experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
    • Opportunities to strengthen research, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Experience working with a community-focused animal rescue organization.
    • The satisfaction of helping secure resources that directly support animals in need.
    • Potential community service hours or college credits while giving back to pets in need.

    Make a Difference

Every successful rescue requires resources, and every funding opportunity has the potential to change an animal's life.

By helping PPRI identify new sources of financial support, you'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in giving vulnerable animals a second chance.

Join Pawsitive Possibilities Rescue and help us turn funding opportunities into lifesaving possibilities!
