    Description

Can you help us to raise awareness of bowel cancer symptoms across your local area?

Become a Bowel Cancer Awareness Champion and use your voice in the community, in-person or virtually, to make sure everyone knows how to spot the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer. This will help make sure more people can spot the signs sooner and so get a diagnosis at the earliest possible stage when the disease is more treatable and curable.

Take part from the comfort of your own home using your social media to share our specifically curated social media graphics and videos, in your community by reaching out to local businesses, community notice boards and places of worship to display our posters, or at your workplace by sharing information through your staff newsletters, our leaflets, or by putting our symptoms posters up in your staff toilets.

No long-term commitment is required — just a little bit of your time and your local knowledge! We'll provide you with everything you need to get you started including our toolkit and handy guide, as well as support from our dedicated volunteering team.

However you choose to take part, you’ll be helping your local community by making them aware of the symptoms of bowel cancer and where to find out more about what to do about them.

    Why we want you

By becoming a Bowel Cancer Awareness Champion, you'll be helping us to raise vital awareness of bowel cancer symptoms. Bowel cancer is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. In fact, 9 in 10 people survive bowel cancer if its diagnosed at the earliest stage. You can help to make early diagnosis possible. As a Bowel Cancer Awareness Champion you’ll be helping us to reach as many people as possible, equipping them with the tools they need to spot bowel cancer as early as possible.

This role is all about using your voice, in your community – whether that’s the place you live, a group your part of, your place of work or your online network – to raise as much awareness as possible. You’ll be helping us to connect with communities we may not have reached yet, whilst raising awareness in your area.

When you sign up, you’ll receive a pack through the post containing a selection of leaflets and posters with information about the symptoms to look out for.

Help bring us one step closer to a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer.

    What you will be doing

    • Distributing our symptoms awareness information in your local community
    • Putting up posters in local businesses, community spaces and health centres
    • Reporting back to us with basic details of where you've put leaflets/posters
    • Sharing content from our social media toolkit
    • If you request a physical pack you will receive a pack through the post containing a selection of posters and leaflets with information about the symptoms to look out for

    The skills you need

    • Knowledge of your local area
    • An interest in our cause
    • Access to social media if you'd like to share our social media toolkit

    What's in it for you

    • Help to raise awareness of the symptoms of bowel cancer to help people in your local area
    • Flexible opportunity which fits around your schedule
    • One-off commitment
    • Can be done entirely from home if you opt for the virtual toolkit only
