Description
Senior Companion is a volunteer who provides friendly support and companionship to older adults at the senior center. Senior Companions help create a welcoming, engaging environment by offering social interaction and light assistance during center activities.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing companionship and conversation
- Assisting with group activities, games, and events
- Helping seniors feel welcomed and engaged
- Offering support during meals or recreational programs
- Encouraging socialization and participation
This role does not include:
- Medical or personal care
- Heavy lifting or housekeeping
Impact of the role:
Senior Companions play an important role in reducing isolation, supporting wellness, and enhancing the overall experience of seniors at the center.
