Empower Tamizhagam has worked on livelihoods and poverty alleviation in Tamil Nadu, South India for 15 years, through MSME support, policy work, and government program access.

We are building a local team of volunteers who can contribute directly to our ongoing work in Tamil Nadu. You'll be matched to real, ongoing work based on your skills — not general tasks.

We are currently looking for:

• Policy researchers and writers
• Video editors and content/social media creators
• Software engineers and product-minded contributors (we're building a platform for our beneficiaries)
• Community outreach and field coordination
• Beneficiary interaction and documentation
• Field research and surveys
• Government-scheme/community-program support
• Local-language communications
• Data and monitoring & evaluation specialists
• Grant and proposal writers
• Indian legal and accounting professionals (company law, tax, compliance)
• US economic development / investment-facilitation experience (helping connect US companies and investors to Tamil Nadu)
• People with CSR or foundation contacts who can make an introduction

What we're looking for: Strong Tamil communication skills are highly valued, particularly for community and field work. English is useful for research, documentation and communications.
