    Description

    Adult Education Tutor at The Seattle Public Library's Lake City Branch

    The Seattle Public Library is seeking volunteers who can support ESOL and adult basic education learners with the following:

    • Developing conversational English
    • Reading, writing and basic math skills
    • High school completion and college admission
    • Preparing job application materials
    • Preparing for the U.S. Naturalization test

    This opportunity is available at the Lake City Branch from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

    Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and able to tutor diverse adult learners on a drop-in basis. Experience tutoring English language learners is preferred but not required (training is provided). See more about our program here: Adult Tutoring | The Seattle Public Library.

    We encourage multilingual individuals to apply. Home languages most commonly spoken at Lake City’s Adult Education Tutoring Program include Amharic, Arabic, English, Mandarin, Spanish, and Tigrinya but other languages are also valued.
