Description
Assist Red Cross in delivering mission by coordinating publicity information about services and programs offered to the public.
- Willingness to support the American Red Cross mission
- Represent the Red Cross in a professional manner
- Respond to assigned media requests with accurate information
- Draft news releases and other written public relations documents such as talking points and client stories
- Update media contact lists as needed
- Act as a Red Cross media spokesperson, as directed by chapter
- Support and the development of promotional items (such as newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, etc), along with content for chapter website
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
- Experience working with media preferred
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to write press releases and other promotional materials
- Basic social media knowledge
- Familiarity with basic photography and videography techniques, video editing skills are helpful
- Effective organizational and priortization skills
- Availability during days and nights
