    Position Title: Hospice Volunteer - Companionship Provider

    Location: Serving Communities Throughout Dayton Metro Region

    About Us:

    At Care360 Hospice, we are dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care to our patients and their families. Our team of healthcare professionals and volunteers work together to offer comfort, dignity, and support during this important phase of life.

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our team as Hospice Volunteers, specifically to provide companionship to our patients. As a Companion Volunteer, you will offer emotional support, a listening ear, and a comforting presence to our patients during their final days.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Visit hospice patients regularly, providing companionship and emotional support.
    • Engage in conversations, listen to patients' stories, and offer a comforting presence.
    • Participate in activities that the patient enjoys, such as reading, playing music, or simply sitting quietly together.
    • Assist with light tasks that contribute to the patient's comfort, under the supervision of hospice staff.
    • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and dignity of each patient.
    • Communicate regularly with hospice staff to report on patient interactions and any notable observations.

    Qualifications:

    • Compassionate, empathetic, and patient demeanor.
    • Excellent listening and communication skills.
    • Ability to provide non-judgmental, supportive companionship.
    • Reliability and commitment to regular volunteer visits.
    • Previous experience in a caregiving or volunteer role is a plus, but not required.
    • Must be at least 16 years old.
    • Completion of a background check and volunteer training program provided by Care360 Hospice, the expenses of which are covered by our agency.
