Make a difference in your community by helping seniors recognize scams and protect themselves through the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program.
Volunteer Training and Support
SMP volunteers receive training on Medicare fraud and other healthcare-related scams. You’ll be prepared to deliver short, informative presentations to senior groups in your local area. All presentation materials are provided, including ready-to-use scripts. Volunteers also receive resources for community outreach events—such as health fairs and resource fairs—to help spread awareness about the SMP program.
Flexible Volunteer Opportunities
SMP offers flexible volunteer options based on your schedule. Because most presentations and events take place during weekday business hours, the program is especially well-suited for retirees. Couples are welcome to volunteer together and share the experience.
The Senior Medicare Patrol is a federally funded grant program administered by the Administration for Community Living (ACL). In Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Vermont, SMP is sponsored by AdviseWell, Inc., headquartered in New Orleans.
