    Description

    About Us

The Macro Institute for Social Policy and Action (MISPA) bridges the gap between frontline experience and policy spaces through education, community, and leadership development. We cultivate an interdisciplinary pipeline that equips emerging professionals and students across the social sciences to move from micro-level care to macro-level policy awareness and advocacy. We fiercely believe that those closest to community problems belong in the rooms where the laws are written.

    Position Overview

We are looking for a strategic, detail-oriented, and highly organized Program Manager to oversee the execution of our growing educational initiatives and coordinate the structural alignment of our student network. As our Program Manager, you will serve as the operational backbone of our programs, ensuring that our fellowships, webinars, and newly launched student-governed YIM Council run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

This is a critical leadership role for someone passionate about systemic change, capacity building, and demystifying complex public policy for the next generation of systems thinkers.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Program Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations, timelines, and deliverables for MISPA’s educational programs, fellowship cohorts, and civic seminars.
    • Institutional Alignment: Serve as a key organizational link between MISPA’s executive leadership and the student-governed YIM Council, ensuring youth-driven initiatives map cleanly to our broader organizational goals.
    • Compliance & Safety Tracking: Ensure all community programs, virtual forums, and localized regional events strictly adhere to organizational guidelines, non-partisan boundaries, and structural insurance frameworks (focusing heavily on education, research, and policy literacy).
    • Data & Reporting: Coordinate with the Council Secretary and internal team to track program metrics, assemble attendance data, and draft impact summaries for quarterly tracking and institutional reporting.
    • Resource Management: Assist in mapping operational resources, technical infrastructure, and digital check-in systems to support campus leaders and regional volunteers.

    Qualifications & Vibe

    • The Background: Degree or active pursuit of a degree/experience in Social Work (MSW/BSW), Public Health (MPH), Public Policy (MPP), Non-Profit Management, or related social sciences.
    • The Organization Skill: Strong project management instincts with the ability to manage multiple moving parts, timelines, and digital platforms seamlessly.
    • The Communication Style: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders, community partners, and undergraduate/graduate students alike.
    • The Mission Alignment: Deep commitment to equity, systemic advocacy, and building leadership capacity within helping professions.
    • The Tech Stack: Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams/Forms, Zoom, and project management tools is highly preferred.

    Why Join Us?

This summer and fall, MISPA is stepping into an incredible era of growth, backed by upcoming fellowships and national convenings. By joining our team as a Program Manager, you won't just be maintaining programs—you will be structurally building an institution designed to decentralize policy power and give frontline communities a permanent seat at the table.
