Hospice Veteran to Veteran Volunteer

Making a difference one life at a time! Elara Caring Hospice is a leading care provider in Missouri and throughout the Midwest, our staff and volunteers work together to meet each patient where they are. We are currently looking for caring and compassionate VETERAN volunteers to join our team and donate time to assist local hospice patients and families.

We are looking for Veterans to work directly with Veterans. As a Veteran volunteer you will have direct contact with patients and their families. Volunteers will build relationships with patients by engaging them in conversation, listening to music, doing crafts, reading, or playing a game together. As a veteran you may have knowledge of additional resources that can assist families. Caregivers occasionally need a break and a volunteer can provide respite to allow the family member to attend to other needs. Hospice care is provided in patient homes, with family members, and in nursing facilities, which ever you are most comfortable with.

Elara Caring Hospice is also a level 4 WE HONOR VETERANS program. With this program we honor our veterans with a special pinning ceremony, and we would love to have veterans be a part of this presentation. Beginning in 2024 we will also be having vet to vet cafes in several of our communities. We love a strong volunteer presence.
