    Description

    Position Title: Volunteer School Judge

    Position Type: Volunteer (Unpaid)

    Role Overview:

    The Volunteer School Judge evaluates student performances, projects, or competitions in a fair, objective, and constructive manner. This role supports academic events such as science fairs, debates, talent shows, or academic competitions by providing thoughtful feedback and helping determine outcomes based on established criteria.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review and score student work or performances using provided rubrics or guidelines
    • Observe presentations, demonstrations, or performances attentively
    • Provide constructive, age-appropriate feedback to students
    • Ensure fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality throughout the judging process
    • Participate in judge briefings and follow event rules and procedures
    • Collaborate with other judges to finalize scores and decisions when required
    • Submit completed score sheets and evaluations on time

    Qualifications:

    • Interest in education, student development, or specific subject area (e.g., STEM, arts, debate)
    • Ability to remain objective and unbiased
    • Strong attention to detail and observation skills
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Reliability and punctuality

    Preferred (Not Required):

    • Background in teaching, mentoring, or the subject area being judged
    • Prior judging or evaluation experience
    • Professional or academic experience relevant to the event
