    Description

MLK Day of Service at Francis E. Willard School

Joyful Readers is excited to partake in this year's Martin Luther King Jr., National Day of Service and invites YOU to lend a helping hand! For the past 25 years, more than 700,000 volunteers have honored Dr. King’s legacy by participating in community service projects throughout the country. This year, we're hosting an MLK Day of Service at Francis E. Willard Elementary School in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Together we'll support the students and families of Willard by leading a literacy-themed carnival for children in the community and completing service projects including painting various murals for the beautification of the school.

Please note that our volunteer opportunities for MLK Day are only open to adults and teenagers 14 years of age or older. If you'd like to bring your younger children with you, they're welcome to participate in the literacy-themed carnival. All volunteers must register themselves individually to participate. Don't delay - spots will fill up fast!
