Center of Wellness for Urban Women, Inc (CWUW), founded in 2007, empowers women and their families living in urban communities to take an active role in improving their health and well-being through education, advocacy, care, and prevention.
We believe in empowering women to learn to maintain the 7 dimensions of Wellness (physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, social, and intellectual wellness) through various interventions and programs, basic needs support (housing, food, utilities), chronic disease prevention, young women's health and leadership, entrepreneurship, whole health approaches, and social impact on health equity.
We need strong, focused, and engaged board members who are interested in eliminating health disparities and improving the quality of life for women and their families.
Experienced board members are needed. We are a growing nonprofit building a foundation for sustainability and financial responsibility for women and their families. Serious inquiries.
You must be able to commit 10-15 hours per month on average, program and fundraising engagement, and strong fiduciary oversight and financial management.
