    Description

    What we Do

At Race for Life Rescue, we believe every animal deserves a safe, healthy environment where they can flourish. Our goals are to reduce euthanasia by relocating animals to adoption centers that have a greater capacity for care and high adoption rates, provide lifesaving supplies and emergency evacuation for animals during natural disasters, and support underserved communities with the provisions and program needs necessary to their success.to their success.”

    About the Role

Race for Life Rescue is looking for a dedicated volunteer to build our volunteer recruitment program from the ground up. This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity for someone who wants to shape how a growing rescue organization finds, welcomes, and supports the people who power its mission.

You'll work directly with our team to design a recruitment process, then lead outreach to identify, screen, and onboard new volunteers who support our administrative and fundraising work. If you enjoy building systems as much as connecting with people, this role is for you.

    What You'll Do

    • Design and launch a repeatable volunteer recruitment process, from outreach through onboarding.
    • Source and screen volunteer candidates for administrative and fundraising roles.
    • Create simple tools (application forms, interview guides, onboarding checklists) to track candidates and volunteers.
    • Coordinate with staff and board members to understand ongoing volunteer needs.
    • Represent Race for Life Rescue's mission clearly and warmly to prospective volunteers.

    What We're Looking For

    • Genuine enthusiasm for Race for Life Rescue's mission.
    • Experience recruiting, managing, or coordinating people — paid or volunteer.
    • Strong organizational skills and follow-through; comfortable building a process from scratch.
    • Clear, friendly communicator, in writing and in person/video calls.
    • Comfortable with everyday tools like email, spreadsheets, and video conferencing.
    • Prior nonprofit or volunteer-management experience is a plus, not a requirement.
