    Description

    Behavior and Wellness Team Coordinator

The Animal Pad is searching for passionate, dog-loving humans to join our Behavior & Wellness Development Team! This team plays a critical role in helping our dogs not just get adopted—but stay in their homes. Our focus is on supporting fosters and adopters through the ups and downs of dog ownership, ensuring every pup has the best chance at long-term success.

    What you’ll do:

      • Serve as a support system for fosters and adopters by helping guide them through simple behavioral questions and everyday challenges
      • Act as a bridge between our community and professional trainers when additional support is needed
      • Confidently answer minor behavioral questions and offer practical, approachable guidance
      • Coordinate with volunteer trainers and trusted partners to ensure dogs receive the support they need
      • Help keep dogs in homes by providing timely, thoughtful, and compassionate support
      • Assist in planning community events like pack walks, alumni beach days, and educational seminars
      • Research and build partnerships with trainers, wellness-focused companies, and other dog-loving organizations

    Who this is perfect for:

      • Someone with prior dog behavior experience or someone eager to learn from experienced trainers and professionals
      • A strong communicator who is comfortable supporting people through challenges with empathy and clarity
      • Someone who can stay calm, solution-oriented, and positive when helping troubleshoot minor behavioral concerns
      • A team player who believes in meeting people where they’re at and keeping dogs out of the shelter system

No formal experience required—just a willingness to learn, a passion for dogs, and a heart for keeping them in loving homes.

Note that this is a hybrid position (both remote and in-person). You must be available to work with our dogs at various locations in the San Diego area.
