    Artists and Performers Wanted

Performing & Visual Artists Wanted – Koreshan State Park

Bring history to life through music and art at Koreshan State Park. Set within a beautifully preserved turn-of-the-century settlement, this unique volunteer opportunity invites performers and artists to enhance the visitor experience while supporting park fundraising and interpretation.

We are seeking classical musicians, bluegrass artists, jazz performers, bands, theatrical performers, and other performing artists who are interested in either:

    • Being featured in a fundraising concert, or
    • Providing ambient acoustic music throughout the historic settlement
    • or assisting to provide a performance or demonstration during one of our events

During our busy winter season, live music woven throughout the grounds creates a memorable and immersive experience for our visitors.

    A Truly Unique Musical Setting

Volunteers may have the opportunity to play:

    • An 1885 Steinway & Sons piano located in our air-conditioned Art Hall (built before modern key standardization, offering a distinctive playing experience)
    • A historic, operational pump organ

We are open to solo artists or small ensembles and serve as special highlights for visitors and fundraising efforts.

Opportunities for Visual & Living History Artists

We also welcome artists who would like to demonstrate traditional or period-inspired crafts within the settlement, such as:

    • Painting
    • Sewing or stitching
    • Woodworking
    • Other turn-of-the-century skills

Costumes can be provided for those interested in enhancing the historic atmosphere. Additionally, we may have opportunities for artists interested in creating murals that help interpret the site’s cultural history.

    Why Volunteer With Us?

    • Share your talents in a unique historic environment
    • Connect with visitors through music and art
    • Flexible scheduling—participate during events or at times that suit you
    • Be part of a creative and collaborative community supporting the park
    • Enjoy free park entry when you become a volunteer!
