    Volunteer Program Manager (Hybrid Preferred)

    About Us

    Philly Peace in Progress is a community‑centered nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth, families, and individuals through empowerment programs, violence‑prevention initiatives, and resource connection. We focus on creating safe spaces, building strong relationships, and helping people move toward stability and success.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and mission‑driven Volunteer Program Manager to help oversee, strengthen, and expand our youth and community programs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others and looking to gain valuable leadership, program development, and nonprofit management experience.

    We offer some remote opportunities, but we strongly prefer hybrid volunteers who can support both virtual tasks and in‑person program days, meetings, and events.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of youth and community programs
    • Support program staff and volunteers to ensure smooth program delivery
    • Communicate regularly with participants, families, and volunteers
    • Maintain program documentation, attendance records, and progress reports
    • Assist with volunteer onboarding, training, and scheduling
    • Identify program needs and help develop new activities, workshops, and resources
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director to evaluate program effectiveness
    • Ensure tasks, communication, and follow‑through are completed in a timely and dependable manner
    • Represent Philly Peace in Progress professionally during community events and meetings

    Qualifications

    • Strong passion for community service, youth development, and helping others
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through consistently
    • Comfortable with hybrid work (remote tasks + in‑person program days)
    • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Chat)
    • Dependable, professional, and committed to consistent communication
    • Prior experience in program coordination, youth work, or volunteer management is a plus (not required)
    • Ability to commit to at least 6 months

    Time Commitment

    Hybrid preferred. Remote tasks are available, but in‑person participation is needed during active program sessions, meetings, and community events.
