    Description

Donate, Make, and Deliver Welcome Home Baskets for the Homeless - Ongoing Opportunity

Collect and donate the supplies your neighbors need to be successful in stable living! We have a variety of housing teams that help our unhoused neighbors get into a place they can call home. Welcome Baskets support people transitioning from homelessness into their own apartments and homes. These baskets provide those individuals with the things they need to get started in a home such as dishes, pots and pans, a broom, etc.

This is a great activity for scout troops, family gatherings, faith groups, book clubs, and corporate team building!

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

Guidelines and notes (READ BEFORE ASSEMBLY!):

    • If you include any food products in baskets, note that they must be unopened and prior to their best by, use by, or expiration date.
    • You do not need to include everything on this list to make a Welcome Home Basket. Please do your best to get the italicized items on the supply list - those are the ones folks need most when they move into their new home.
    • A note wishing them well signed with your group name. Explicitly religious information is not permitted we want every person using our services to feel included and respected with these baskets. Great sample: “Wishing you well in your new home! From St. Michael's Senior Youth Group”

We also accept (and greatly appreciate!) individual donations of each of these listed items. Delivery must be arranged via our scheduling tool or via our Amazon Wishlist.

    What will volunteers do?

Volunteers purchase materials, assemble baskets, and drop them off by appointment.
