Commitment Details:

Scheduling is flexible and based on your availability. Once matched with a patient, visits are coordinated around a schedule that works for both you and the patient. Volunteer as little as 1-2 hours a month or as often as you’d like.

Description

We are seeking a caring Reading Companion Volunteer to bring comfort,

connection, and companionship to a hospice patient through the simple

joy of reading.

Volunteers may read books, short stories, poetry, magazines,

newspapers, inspirational passages, or other materials chosen by the

patient. Just as importantly, you’ll provide a friendly presence and

an opportunity for conversation and connection.

No medical care is involved—just your time, your voice, and your

willingness to be present. Whether you can visit regularly or have

just a few hours to give each month, you can help brighten someone’s

day and make meaningful moments possible.

If you love reading and connecting with others, this may be the

perfect way to share something you enjoy while making a difference.
