Position Description

We are seeking qualified Islamic Scholars, Jurists (Muftis/Faqaqa), Bioethicists, and Medical Professionals with dual backgrounds in Islamic sciences and healthcare to join our elite Volunteer Scholar Advisory Panel. This panel provides independent ethical oversight and juristic evaluation for high-value global pharmaceutical portfolios, ensuring that lifecycle manufacturing processes respect sacred dietary and bioethical laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Dossier Review: Periodically evaluate complex clinical-juristic cases regarding trace components (e.g., porcine-derived gelatins, binders, stabilizers, or cross-contaminated cellular matrices) in modern medicine.
• Ethical Determinations: Guide our technical audit committee on the application of juristic principles like necessity (Dharurah) and need (Hajah) within modern biotechnology and medical devices.
• Strategic Advisory: Review and validate certification guidelines to ensure they align seamlessly with international OIC, MENA, and ASEAN trade market frameworks.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD, Ifta degree, or equivalent traditional license) in Islamic Studies, Shariah, or Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh).
• Dual Asset (Highly Valued): Background, certification, or practice in medicine (MD/DO), pharmacy (PharmD), biology, or healthcare bioethics.
• A strong dedication to community empowerment and public health transparency.

Time Commitment

Highly flexible and completely virtual. Panel members meet asynchronously via our digital portal, requiring approximately 2–4 hours per month to review specific product dossiers.

What You Will Be Doing

As a remote panel member, you will contribute your unique knowledge to our multi-stage evaluation process (Organization → Products/GMP → Review). Your formal sign-off advances files from evaluation to final certification.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about community service and possess training in at least one of the following fields:

• Traditional Islamic Sciences or Comparative Fiqh (with a focus on Fiqh al-Nawazil or contemporary issues).
• Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
• Hospital Bioethics or Medical Research.
