    Description

    Patient Volunteer

Volunteers are needed at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana to help “Make Every Moment Count” for patients and their families. As a volunteer, you will offer companionship and support to individuals coping with advanced illnesses.

Residential Hospice welcomes volunteers to visit patients in their homes or in long-term care facilities. These visits may include simple but meaningful activities such as reading aloud, writing letters, sharing stories, playing games or cards, coloring, watching TV or movies together, or simply enjoying conversation. Volunteers may also provide respite for caregivers who need a short break.

    Benefits of Volunteering:

    • The fulfillment of bringing comfort and connection to someone nearing the end of life.
    • The privilege of witnessing the love and strength of families during meaningful moments.
    • The rewarding experience of being recognized as a valued member of the hospice care team
