Description
Grocery Buddies Needed - Because Snap is no Snap here! When a person is legally blind and trying to get the most out of their SNAP benefits, they are interested in the best deals not the shiniest high-priced items and online shopping is not designed with that in mind. If you can get them to the store or help navigate the online shopping cart this is the opportunity for you. It's so easy, once a week or two when you do your shopping you can take them with you, or you can help them with an online or phone order. Reply now or call 860-602-4129 and start helping!
Requirements to be a great volunteer include:
- a desire to help others;
- a pleasant demeanor;
- a good reading/speaking voice;
- average reading skills;
- organizational or planning abilities;
- a good driving record;
- a clear criminal history;
- two references
- access to a car with proof of insurance;
- a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage.
Volunteers will be matched within three to five miles of home or work.
