    About Mentor A Promise

    Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a New York City–based nonprofit serving children and youth ages 5–18 experiencing housing instability through mentorship, education, social-emotional learning (SEL), career readiness, and community partnerships.

    About PromiseRise

    PromiseRise supports internships, career exposure, workshops, and workforce pathways for older students and young adults. Connecting youth to opportunities like the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) helps build confidence, experience, and long-term career pathways.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a Youth Opportunities Outreach Lead to focus on direct outreach to youth and families, ensuring they are aware of and supported in applying for SYEP and similar opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead youth and family outreach promoting SYEP and other opportunities
    • Develop youth-friendly messaging and outreach materials
    • Coordinate communication with students, families, and program participants
    • Track outreach engagement and participation
    • Collaborate with program teams to identify eligible youth
    • Maintain timely, professional responsiveness via email and chat in Google Workspace

    Qualifications

    • Strong communication and outreach skills
    • Interest in youth development and workforce pathways
    • Ability to organize outreach and track progress
    • Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values

    Commitment

    Volunteer role • 5–10 hours/week • 6-month commitment preferred
