Volunteer Social Media Storyteller
Rest Stop Ranch is a trusted and inclusive community destination for respite, recreation, education, and healing throughout and beyond the long-term-care journey. We provide spiritual-psycho-social-emotional support to long-term-care givers and receivers. We are seeking a creative and dedicated volunteer to serve as our Social Media Storyteller, capturing the "magic" of our therapeutic gardens and sharing our mission with the world to help grow our team.
The Successful Candidate for Social Media Storyteller will:
- Document Garden Magic: Take high- quality photos and videos of garden blooms, seasonal projects, and the beauty of our 0.5- mile wheelchair-accessible trails.
- Create Engaging Content: Draft and schedule compelling posts for Facebook and Instagram that highlight the ranch's mission of creative, accessible, and sustainable respite.
- Respect Privacy: Document events and programs while strictly respecting the privacy and dignity of our guests and participants.
- Community Growth: Interact with our online community to foster engagement and spread awareness of our free-of-charge programs.
- Adhere to Care Policies: Maintain the standard that sta and volunteers provide social and spiritual support and are not responsible for direct physical care of guests.
Required Training & Skills
- Digital Proficiency: Comfort and experience using Facebook and Instagram for community
- outreach.
- Creative Eye: Ability to capture evocative imagery that reflects the sanctuary environment.
- Compassion & Empathy: A strong desire to support those on the long-term-care journey.
- Communication: Excellent written communication skills and the ability to talk informally to a diverse audience.
- Reliability: Ability to self-direct and maintain a consistent posting schedule. The Ideal Candidate
- Photography/Content Experience: Previous experience in photography, videography, or digital storytelling is highly recommended.
- Nature Enthusiast: A passion for the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors and accessible gardening.
- Time Commitment & Frequency
- Flexible Schedule: This role offers flexible hours that can be completed on-site or remotely.
- Regular Presence: Ideally, the volunteer will visit the ranch at least once a week or attend one major monthly event (such as a Sunday Stroll or Memory Café) to gather fresh content.
