We're looking for an SEO & Marketing Lead to help grow Period Reality's visibility online, connect our work with the people who need it and make sure our content, projects and resources are reaching the right audiences.

    • Identify opportunities to improve our visibility across search engines and other digital channels.
    • Conduct keyword research and identify topics, questions and search opportunities relevant to our audiences.
    • Optimise website pages, blogs, resources and other content for search engines while keeping content useful and engaging for people.
    • Review existing website content and identify opportunities for SEO improvements.
    • Work with content, communications and project teams to make sure new content is created with discoverability and audience needs in mind.
    • Develop marketing strategies and campaigns to increase awareness of Period Reality's work, projects and resources.
    • Support the promotion of key projects, campaigns, events, resources and launches.
    • Identify opportunities to grow website traffic, audience engagement and conversions.
    • Monitor SEO and marketing performance using relevant analytics and reporting tools.
    • Track search rankings, website traffic, engagement and other key performance indicators.
    • Use insights and data to recommend improvements and new opportunities.
    • Research audience behavior, trends and relevant topics to inform marketing activity.
    • Identify opportunities for partnerships, backlinks, collaborations and other activities that can increase Period Reality's online reach.
    • Stay up to date with SEO, digital marketing and search trends.
    • Work collaboratively with the wider Period Reality team, including content, social media, design and project leads.
    • Help develop simple, practical systems and processes that make SEO and marketing easier to manage across different PR projects.

    What we're looking for

    • Experience in SEO, digital marketing, content marketing or a related area.
    • Good understanding of SEO principles, including keyword research, on-page SEO, content optimisation and search intent.
    • Experience using SEO and website analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs or similar.
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing and how different channels work together.
    • Able to use data and insights to understand what is working and identify opportunities for growth.
    • Strong research and analytical skills.
    • Good understanding of content and what makes people click, engage and take action.
    • Creative and curious, with the ability to spot new marketing opportunities.
    • Strong organisational skills and able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
    • Proactive, self-driven and comfortable taking ownership of SEO and marketing activity.
    • Able to explain SEO and marketing concepts clearly to people who may not have specialist knowledge.
    • Comfortable working collaboratively across different teams and projects.
    • Able to work independently and consistently in a remote volunteer environment.
    • Passionate about Period Reality's mission and interested in helping make body literacy accessible to everyone.*
    • Able to commit time consistently and contribute reliably as part of a remote volunteer team.

    What you'll gain

    • The opportunity to develop and implement an SEO strategy across multiple projects and audiences.
    • Practical experience in SEO, content marketing, digital strategy, analytics and audience growth.
    • The opportunity to work across projects including The Woo Cycle, JIBE and Period Reality's wider educational and community work.
    • Experience working with a diverse, international volunteer team.
    • Opportunities to collaborate with content creators, social media managers, designers and project leads.
    • The opportunity to build your portfolio through meaningful, mission-led work.
    • Connections with people working across health, education, gender equity, workplace wellbeing and social impact.
    • The chance to help more people discover resources and information that can improve their understanding of their bodies.
