    Description

    OSINT Workflow Administrator

Night Owl Reconnaissance (NOR) is a grassroots nonprofit organization that uses open-source intelligence (OSINT) and investigative analysis to locate missing persons, support recoveries, and improve public understanding of these cases. Our volunteers work collaboratively with families, advocacy groups, and law enforcement to bring structure, accuracy, and compassion to investigations.

    Role Overview

This behind the scenes position focuses on developing, maintaining, and overseeing the digital workflows that support NOR’s investigative researchers. The OSINT Workflow Administrator will help manage the digital environments and access pathways used across different platforms, keep these systems organized and up to date, and create training to ensure volunteers use them properly. The goal is to support safe, consistent, and controlled online work across NOR’s nationwide teams.

This is an operational support role rather than an investigative one. It is well suited for someone who is organized, methodical, and comfortable working with structured digital processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the digital environments and access needed for investigative researchers to conduct online work safely and consistently
    • Oversee the setup, upkeep, and documentation of the systems used across NOR’s research platforms
    • Track account lifecycles such as creation, rotation, recovery, or retirement, and keep clear internal records
    • Maintain naming conventions, login information, and access instructions in a controlled and consistent way
    • Provide investigative researchers with the access they need based on case requirements
    • Develop and update internal training materials on safe, structured use of NOR’s digital workflows
    • Monitor for issues such as inactivity, platform changes, or access disruptions, and take corrective steps
    • Collaborate with NOR leadership to refine policies and improve digital workflow practices over time

    Required Qualifications

    • Practical experience with OSINT research, online investigations, or structured digital research

    OR

    • Experience managing digital identities, account access, or online workflows in a professional setting
    • Strong attention to detail and comfort with documentation and routine processes
    • Ability to work with multiple browser profiles, containers, or separated digital environments
    • Clear written communication and a reliable, steady work style
    • Commitment to responsible and ethical handling of sensitive information

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with social media platforms, privacy settings, and platform norms
    • Experience writing training guides or documenting digital processes
    • Prior work in trust and safety, IT administration, cybersecurity, or online moderation
    • Experience supporting or coordinating within volunteer based teams
    • Trust and Safety Experience

    Time Commitment

Flexible, generally 2 to 4 hours per week. Work can be completed on your own schedule. Occasional coordination with investigative researchers or leadership may be needed.

    What You Gain

    • Experience supporting a nationwide OSINT organization
    • Exposure to real world digital workflow and access management practices
    • Opportunities to build training, documentation, and operational support skills
