Do you love to cook and meet new people? Join Transition Projects as a Volunteer Chef and help feed over 700 people a night experiencing homelessness.
We're looking for volunteers who can reheat frozen, pre-cooked meals and serve dinner to our residents. No major cooking required, just reheat and serve! Enjoy making connections and building community with our residents while serving.
Example shift looks like:
5 pm - Volunteers arrive to heat up the meal and set serving station.
6:30 pm - Volunteers serve dinner to 60-120 residents (depending on shelter).
7 pm - Volunteers clean up kitchen and say goodbye.
We ask volunteers commit to a weekly or biweekly meal for a minimum of 3-6 months. Valid OR Food Handler's Card is required.
