    Members of the MEDA Board serve a two-year term, which may be renewed for successive terms. Members are asked to serve on one or two committees of the Board. Board meetings are held 4 -5 times a year. Time commitment varies from 1-4 hours per month.

    Board Attorney

    Seeking individuals who reside in the United States.

    The Multiservice Eating Disorders Association (MEDA) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney to join its Board of Directors. This role is crucial in providing legal guidance and support to the organization as it works to promote awareness, prevention, and recovery from eating disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit law, governance, or related areas and a passion for mental health advocacy. Board meetings are held monthly on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 PM.

    This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about eating disorders and wnat to make a meaningful impact in the community! MEDA is seeking individuals who are willing to commit time, effort, and resources to MEDA's mission. Prior board experience is helpful, but is not a requirement. Candidates should be passionate for MEDA's cause and possess qualities of dedication, integrity, honesty, and collegiality in stewarding the organization towards a common goal.

    Requirements:

    1. Lawyer with non-profit experience.

    2. Personal commitment to devote 2-4 hours per month.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Serves on one committee.

    2. Works with the board and the Executive Director to develop Policies for recommendation to the Board to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of the organization.

    4. Works with the board and the Executive Director.

    5. Attend monthly meetings, the second Tuesday of the month from 6-8pm.
