The Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for attracting, identifying, engaging, and hiring talent to support the organization’s growth and strategic priorities. This role serves as a trusted recruiting partner to hiring managers and owns the full recruiting lifecycle from workforce needs and role definition through sourcing, interviewing, selection, offer coordination, and transition to onboarding.
This volunteer role is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on recruiter and builder who enjoys recruiting great people while also improving processes, developing talent pipelines, leveraging recruiting data, and helping build a scalable Talent Acquisition function.
Key Responsibilities include:
Full-Cycle Recruiting
- Manage the end-to-end recruiting process for assigned positions, from intake through hire.
- Develop sourcing strategies and proactively identify qualified candidates through LinkedIn, Idealist, referrals, professional networks, job boards, and other recruiting channels.
- Conduct candidate screening and initial interviews to assess experience, competencies, motivation, and organizational alignment.
- Coordinate interviews, candidate communications, selection activities, references, and offer processes.
- Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting process and deliver a professional, engaging candidate experience.
- Build and maintain pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs.
Hiring Manager Partnership
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify hiring needs, job requirements, competencies, experience expectations, and ideal candidate profiles.
- Lead recruiting intake meetings and develop effective search strategies for open positions.
- Advise hiring managers on interviewing, candidate evaluation, market conditions, and recruiting best practices.
- Help managers develop structured and consistent interview processes.
- Maintain regular communication with hiring managers regarding pipeline activity, candidate quality, challenges, and hiring progress.
Talent Sourcing & Employer Brand
- Develop creative sourcing strategies to identify both active and passive candidates.
- Build relationships with professional organizations, universities, community organizations, industry groups, and other potential talent sources.
- Partner with Marketing and organizational leadership to strengthen the Employer Value Proposition (EVP) and communicate why candidates should join the organization.
- Help develop recruiting campaigns, job-posting content, candidate messaging, and other employer-branding initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to expand talent pipelines and increase awareness of the organization.
Recruiting Operations & Analytics
- Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, and recruiting data within the organization's recruiting systems and trackers.
- Analyze recruiting data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Improve recruiting workflows, documentation, templates, interview guides, and hiring processes.
- Support the development of scalable recruiting practices as the organization grows.
Candidate-to-Onboarding Partnership
- Partner closely with People Operations to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to new hire.
- Ensure required hiring documentation and information are complete and accurately transferred for onboarding.
- Coordinate start dates and other pre-onboarding activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve the overall candidate and new-hire experience.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in recruiting, Talent Acquisition, or a related field.
- Experience managing full-cycle recruiting across multiple positions simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience sourcing and engaging candidates through multiple recruiting channels.
- Strong experience partnering directly with hiring managers.
- Ability to conduct candidate interviews and evaluate qualifications, competencies, and organizational alignment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment where processes are still being developed.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems, recruiting platforms, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Ability to use recruiting data and metrics to improve hiring outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience helping build or improve a recruiting function within a growing or early-stage organization.
- Experience recruiting across multiple functional areas and levels.
- Experience developing recruiting dashboards and analyzing talent acquisition metrics.
- Experience with employer branding and Employer Value Proposition initiatives.
- Experience developing structured interview processes, competency-based interviewing, and interview guides.
- Experience recruiting within a nonprofit, startup, technology, education, media, or mission-driven organization.
