Be the Voice That Brings Peace of Mind

A Simple Phone Call Can Make a World of Difference.

Baptist Hospice is looking for one or two compassionate volunteers to join our team by making our weekly "Tuck-In-Calls" from our Batesville office.

Every Wednesday or Thursday, you'll spend 2-3 hours calling hospice patients and their caregivers before the weekend to see how they're doing and make sure they have everything they need.

Sometimes it's as simple as asking:

• "Do you have enough supplies to get through the weekend?"
• "Is there anything you'd like me to let the hospice team know?"
• "How are you doing today?"

These conversations provide more than information - they provide reassurance. Caregivers often carry a tremendous amount of responsibility, and knowing someone is checking in each week gives them one less thing to worry about.

Over time, many volunteers develop a light friendships with the spouses, adult children, and family members they call. A familiar, caring voice can become one of the highlights of their week.

This volunteer opportunity may be perfect for you if you:

• Enjoy talking with people.
• Have a kind, compassionate heart.
• Are a good listener.
• Want to make a meaningful difference from the comfort of an office setting.
• Can commit to about 2-3 hours each week on a Wednesday or Thursday.

The schedule is flexible, and we're happy to have one volunteer or two volunteers share the responsibility.
