    Description

A call to experienced fundraisers, grant strategists, and communications professionals committed to health equity and community-rooted change

    About the Initiative

Inside San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, incarcerated leaders have spent years organizing to transform their health environment. Their work has grown into the Right to Heal (R2H) Initiative and the development of the Healing Foods Co-op—a first-of-its-kind cooperative model designed to expand access to nutrient-dense foods, reduce chronic inflammation, and strengthen community ownership from the inside out.

LUCI, an incarcerated-led coalition founded and directed by Kelton O'Connor, is supporting this historic effort as it enters a critical phase in partnership with facility leadership.

    Why Your Expertise Matters

The Healing Foods Co-op is more than a food program—it is a model rooted in neuroimmune health, food justice, and the lived expertise of incarcerated people.

To move this work forward, we are building a high-skill team of volunteers who can strengthen both:

This is not administrative volunteering. This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise to a model that could become a national precedent for health transformation inside correctional settings.
