    Looking for Spanish speaking volunteers to help with OPB events!

    About OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting)

    Each year, hundreds of volunteers help OPB fulfill its mission of connecting people across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest through the power of a shared story.

    Volunteers support OPB in a variety of ways, including connecting with the community at events.

    About the Project

    Be part of the team that represents OPB at community events and helps bring OPB events to the Portland metro area. Go behind the scenes at community fairs, documentary screenings, radio/podcast recordings, donor recognition events, and more!

    When possible, volunteers are invited to watch the screenings, recordings, etc. Help extend the Community Connections and Audience Development teams' capacities to engage with community members

    Responsibilities:

    • Greet and engage with guests/attendees
    • Hand out OPB stickers/swag
    • Share information about OPB
    • Take tickets and/or check guest lists
    • Invite guests to fill out our community survey and/or enter our raffle drawings
    • Assist with set up/tear down

    Qualifications:

    • Fluent in conversational Spanish and English
    • Reliable and dependable
    • Friendly and welcoming
    • Comfortable in a variety of social situations and like talking to lots of different people
    • Flexible, think well on your feet, and perform well in stressful environments
    • Willingness to communicate with OPB staff via email and in person
    • Reside in the Portland metro area, including Portland, Vancouver, Gresham, Beaverton, Tigard, Clackamas, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Happy Valley, Milwaukie, Hillsboro and surrounding areas

    Training will be provided by the Community Connections and/or Audience Development staff. You will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes with OPB at special events.

    Project Requirements

    • Age: Volunteers must be 18+
    • Background check and brief interview will be required before your first event.
