Make a Difference with the Power of a Handwritten Note
Wings Over Virginia Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to join our Bereavement Team. This meaningful role provides comfort and support to families following the loss of a loved one through the simple yet powerful act of sending thoughtful correspondence.
As a Bereavement Team Volunteer, you will:
- Write sympathy and support cards to grieving family members
- Prepare notification letters and cards to physicians' offices following a patient's passing
- Assist with bereavement mailings and special remembrance projects
- Help ensure families and healthcare partners feel valued and remembered during difficult times
This opportunity is perfect for individuals who:
- Enjoy writing cards and letters
- Have strong attention to detail
- Possess compassion and empathy for others
- Prefer a flexible, office-based volunteer role
- Want to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes
No medical experience is required. Training and ongoing support will be provided.
