Are you a friendly, well-organized and enthusiastic person who would like to help at local blood drives?
American Red Cross volunteer Donor Ambassadors ensure that blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. During a blood drive, whether you’re greeting donors, answering questions or thanking them for their donation, your courtesy and professionalism will create a favorable impression that encourages ongoing donor support.
Why Is This Position so Important?
The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40 percent of our nation’s blood supply. When you help create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage visitors to make a long-term commitment to regular donations, you improve our ability to meet this critical need. Not only has the number of volunteers able to help in-person decreased, but phlebotomists are in greater need of volunteer assistance at blood drives due to stricter regulations.
Time Commitment: 1 shift (4 hours) per month. Training is 1 hour and done virtually on your schedule.
