About Polycreek

Polycreek is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization developing artificial intelligence technology to help protect children online.

Our work focuses on building tools that help detect and respond to online harms including grooming, child sexual exploitation, sextortion, bullying, and other forms of abuse.

As Polycreek continues to grow its technology, partnerships, and impact, we are expanding our Board of Directors with individuals who can help strengthen the organization's long-term sustainability.

The Opportunity

Polycreek is seeking a Board Member focused on Grants & Institutional Giving to join our Board of Directors.

We are particularly interested in someone who can help Polycreek identify relevant grant opportunities, understand the philanthropic landscape surrounding child safety and technology, and strengthen our ability to pursue institutional funding.

This is a working board position. In addition to participating in governance and strategic discussions, we are looking for someone who is interested in actively helping Polycreek expand its grant funding pipeline.

Areas Where You Can Help

The ideal board member will help with areas including:

• Researching foundations and grant opportunities aligned with Polycreek's mission
• Identifying government, foundation, corporate, and philanthropic funding opportunities
• Monitoring new Requests for Proposals and grant programs
• Helping prioritize grant opportunities based on fit and likelihood of success
• Reviewing or assisting with grant applications
• Strengthening grant narratives and organizational positioning
• Helping develop relationships with foundations and institutional funders
• Advising leadership on grant strategy and funding priorities
• Helping Polycreek build a sustainable pipeline of grant opportunities
• Supporting the Board in broader fundraising and development strategy

You do not need to personally write every grant. We are looking for someone who can help us develop the strategy, identify opportunities, improve applications, and build the systems necessary to pursue institutional funding effectively.

Board Responsibilities

As a member of Polycreek's Board of Directors, you will also participate in the broader governance of the organization.

Board members are expected to:

• Participate in Board meetings and strategic discussions
• Provide guidance and oversight to organizational leadership
• Act in the best interests of Polycreek and its mission
• Help strengthen the organization's governance, sustainability, and impact
• Serve as an advocate for Polycreek and its work
• Participate meaningfully in at least one area where your experience can strengthen the organization

Who We're Looking For

We would particularly like to hear from people with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Grant research
• Grant writing
• Foundation relations
• Institutional giving
• Nonprofit development
• Philanthropy
• Government grants
• Corporate giving
• Nonprofit fundraising strategy
• Foundation or philanthropic program management

Experience with technology, artificial intelligence, online safety, child protection, or cybersecurity is helpful but not required.

We are especially interested in people who understand how to find the right funding opportunities, not simply submit as many grant applications as possible.

Commitment

Board members should expect to participate in scheduled Board meetings and contribute additional time between meetings to their area of focus.

For this position, we anticipate approximately 2–4 hours per month outside of Board meetings, although involvement may vary around grant opportunities and deadlines.

This is a remote volunteer Board position.
