    About Us

    Phoebe’s Safe Haven is a nonprofit organization focused on creating safe, ADA-compliant housing and support services for disabled women who are survivors of domestic violence, abuse, and trauma. Our mission is rooted in safety, healing, dignity, and long-term empowerment.

    We are seeking a passionate and creative Volunteer Social Media Content Creator to help grow awareness, community engagement, and support for our mission across digital platforms.

    Volunteer Position Summary

    The Volunteer Social Media Content Creator will assist in creating engaging, mission-driven content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms. This role is ideal for someone passionate about advocacy, storytelling, nonprofit work, women’s empowerment, and social impact.

    This volunteer will help amplify survivor voices, increase community awareness, attract donors and supporters, and strengthen the organization’s online presence.

    Responsibilities

    • Create graphics, captions, reels, and social media posts
    • Help plan and schedule weekly content
    • Develop awareness campaigns related to domestic violence, disability advocacy, healing, and empowerment
    • Assist with storytelling and engagement strategies
    • Monitor comments/messages when needed
    • Research trending hashtags and nonprofit social media trends
    • Collaborate on campaigns, fundraising promotions, and awareness initiatives
    • Maintain brand voice and mission-centered messaging

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Canva or graphic design tools
    • Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok
    • Strong writing and communication skills
    • Creativity and attention to detail
    • Passion for nonprofit advocacy and helping survivors
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    • Experience with video editing or reels is a plus

    Time Commitment

    • Flexible remote volunteer opportunity
    • Approximately 5–10 hours per week

    Mission First

    All content should reflect the mission of Phoebe’s Safe Haven: supporting disabled women survivors of domestic violence through safety, healing, advocacy, and empowerment. Content must always be respectful, compassionate, trauma-informed, and hopeful.

    Content Responsibilities

    Volunteers may assist with:

    * Creating social media graphics in Canva

    * Writing captions for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

    * Designing reels, stories, and awareness posts

    * Promoting campaigns, events, fundraising efforts, and community resources

    * Sharing educational and inspirational content

    * Scheduling posts when assigned

    * Engaging with comments/messages professionally when requested

    Brand Voice Guidelines

    Content should be:

    * Compassionate

    * Empowering

    * Professional

    * Encouraging

    * Survivor-centered

    * Hopeful and uplifting

    Avoid:

    * Political debates

    * Graphic or triggering descriptions

    * Victim-blaming language

    * Negative or argumentative responses

    * Sharing confidential or personal survivor information

    Content Approval Process

    * All content must be submitted for approval before posting unless otherwise authorized.

    * Volunteers should not publish directly to social media accounts without permission.

    * Drafts should be submitted on time for review.

    Design Guidelines

    Please use:

    * Clean, professional layouts

    * Readable fonts

    * Brand colors and logos when provided

    * Inclusive and diverse imagery

    * ADA-conscious design practices when possible

    Preferred tools:

    * Canva

    * Meta Business Suite

    * CapCut or simple video editing apps (optional)

    Posting Expectations

    * Meet assigned deadlines

    * Communicate if additional time is needed

    * Maintain professionalism in all interactions

    * Respond respectfully to feedback and revisions

    Confidentiality

    Volunteers may not:

    * Share private organizational information

    * Discuss survivor stories without permission

    * Release internal documents or communications

    * Use organizational materials for personal gain

    Communication

    Please maintain regular communication regarding:

    * Availability

    * Project progress

    * Questions or concerns

    * Missed deadlines or scheduling conflicts

    Goal of This Role

    The goal of this position is to help:

    * Raise awareness

    * Educate the public

    * Encourage healing and empowerment

    * Expand the reach and impact of Phoebe's Safe Haven through meaningful digital storytelling.
