    Description

Become a Mentor for a Cathedral High School Sophomore

Cathedral High School is launching its Spring 2026 Mentorship Program to support 10th grade students as they begin exploring college and career pathways.

Cathedral students are thoughtful, motivated, and committed to their futures. But many young people arrive at college surprised by the independence, expectations, and decision-making required of them. The real preparation starts earlier — with awareness, confidence, and exposure.

This program is designed to help sophomores explore their strengths, imagine meaningful futures, and take purposeful steps toward them — before senior year pressures begin.

You’ll be supported every step of the way through guided prompts, structured activities, and ongoing staff support.

    What You’ll Do

    • Write weekly to your mentee through a secure online platform
    • Meet in person once per month at Cathedral High School for structured mentor events
    • Support early college and career exploration
    • Encourage reflection, goal-setting, and confidence-building
    • Commit about 4 hours per month during the program term

    Why It Matters

Your mentee will be a 10th grader beginning to:

    • Explore strengths and interests
    • Understand what college readiness actually looks like
    • Build confidence in their voice and decisions
    • Develop awareness of postsecondary pathways
    • Gain exposure to professional networks they may not otherwise access

For many students, having consistent access to a trusted adult and expanded networks can be transformational.

    Who Should Apply

    We welcome volunteers who:

    • Believe in expanding access to opportunity
    • Have strong listening and communication skills
    • Value cultural humility
    • Want to support ambitious students pursuing competitive college pathways

You don’t need to be a college counselor — just consistent, committed, and willing to show up.

    Time Commitment: ~4 hours/month

Location: Weekly virtual messaging + monthly in-person meetings on campus (Cathedral High)

    Compensation: Volunteer (unpaid)

Be part of a small, committed group of mentors helping Cathedral sophomores build direction, agency, and confidence — long before graduation.
