    Description

    Volunteer Social Media Manager

    The Personal Care Foundation is seeking a creative, dependable Volunteer Social Media Manager to help strengthen our online presence and expand awareness of our mission.

    The Personal Care Foundation is a Montgomery County, Maryland nonprofit that provides full size hygiene Care Packages to survivors of domestic violence and others facing hardship. We believe access to basic personal care items restores dignity and supports health, confidence, and economic stability.

    Responsibilities:

    • Help create and schedule a few social media posts each week
    • Write or help refine captions based on our mission, programs, events, and partnerships
    • Engage with followers by helping monitor comments and messages
    • Support outreach by liking, commenting on, and engaging with partner and community accounts
    • Help keep our content organized with a simple content calendar
    • Share basic ideas for ways to grow visibility and engagement

    Qualifications:

    • Interest in social media, communications, or nonprofit/community work
    • Comfortable using Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
    • Strong basic writing and communication skills
    • Organized and dependable
    • Creative and willing to learn
    • Experience with Canva or social media tools is a plus, but not required

    Other details:

    A commitment of at least 3 months is preferred. This is a flexible remote volunteer role that can be done on your own schedule, with regular communication as needed. Content ideas, photos, and program information will be provided. This opportunity is a good fit for someone who cares about community impact and wants to gain hands-on experience supporting a small nonprofit.
