    Description:Thaddeus Resource Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Scrum Master to join its software development team. The Scrum Master will play a crucial role in facilitating Agile practices and processes, promoting collaboration, and driving continuous improvement within software development projects. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the organization and the communities it serves.

    • *The responsibilities for this role are performed 100% remotely. **

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile development teams, guiding them in the adoption and execution of Agile principles and practices, including Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
    • Coach and mentor team members on Agile methodologies, helping them understand their roles and responsibilities within the Scrum framework and fostering a culture of collaboration, self-organization, and continuous improvement.
    • Act as a liaison between the development team and stakeholders, facilitating communication, managing expectations, and ensuring alignment on project goals, priorities, and timelines.
    • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the highest-priority features and user stories and is appropriately groomed and refined.
    • Identify and address impediments or blockers that hinder the progress of the development team, working proactively to resolve issues and escalate as needed to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
    • Track and report on key Agile metrics, such as velocity, sprint burndown, and team health indicators, providing visibility into project progress and performance and facilitating data-driven decision-making.
    • Meet regularly with the software development team to reflect on past sprints, identify areas for improvement, and implement actionable changes to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the development team and across the organization, promoting transparency, trust, and open communication.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.
    • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, with experience implementing Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and teams.
    • Proven ability to lead and coach Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
    • Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Rally, or VersionOne.
    • Commitment to the mission and values of Thaddeus Resource Center and a passion for leveraging technology to drive positive social impact.

    Time commitment:

    • 5 hrs/week including mandatory meetings
    • 1-year minimum
    • Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
      • All staff meetings: Tuesdays 10 AM - 12 PM PST
      • Tech dept meetings: Thursdays 10 AM - 12 PM PST
