By Your Side Volunteer

Time is our most precious gift, especially at the end of life's journey. Since we at Elara Caring feel strongly about family, it is our policy that no person shall die alone. As a By Your Side volunteer, you will spend time sitting with a patient who is peacefully dying. This will not only be a personal vigil for the patient, but also a time to provide comfort to any family members present. No special skills are necessary, just an open heart for the patient and a lending ear for family and friends who may wish to reminisce about the patient's life. It will be some of the most rewarding time you'll ever spend. Elara Caring is currently looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families. There is no physical care involved. Hours are flexible - weekdays, evenings or weekends on an as-needed basis.
