Volunteer Executive Assistant to the Executive Director

    Organization: Leveling the Fields

Location: Charleston, SC / Primarily Remote

Time Commitment: Approximately 5–8 hours per week, with flexible scheduling

Reports to: Founder & Executive Director

    About Leveling the Fields

Leveling the Fields is a Charleston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to increase girls’ participation in sports as a pathway to leadership and confidence. We remove barriers of access, options, and cost by bringing high-quality sports and empowerment programming directly to schools and communities.

    Position Overview

Leveling the Fields is seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive volunteer to provide administrative support to our Founder and Executive Director. This person will help manage the many small but important tasks that keep the organization moving forward, allowing the Executive Director to focus more time on fundraising, partnerships, programming, and growth.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys creating order, researching solutions, following through on details, and helping a mission-driven leader stay organized.

    Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary based on the organization’s current priorities and may include:

    • Researching venues, vendors, community resources, and partnership opportunities
    • Gathering information, comparing options, and presenting clear recommendations
    • Assisting with event logistics, such as identifying a location for our November Content Day
    • Managing administrative access to platforms and accounts, including adding approved team members to Canva and other organizational tools
    • Scheduling meetings and helping coordinate calendars
    • Drafting or organizing routine emails and follow-up communications
    • Updating contact lists, spreadsheets, documents, and internal records
    • Organizing digital files and maintaining shared folders
    • Entering information into our CRM and other systems
    • Tracking deadlines, outstanding tasks, and follow-up items
    • Taking meeting notes and helping turn discussions into actionable next steps
    • Supporting special projects and other administrative needs as assigned

    What We’re Looking For

    The ideal volunteer is:

    • Highly organized and detail-oriented
    • Dependable and responsive
    • Comfortable working independently
    • Proactive about identifying questions, next steps, and potential solutions
    • Able to research a task and summarize the best options clearly
    • Comfortable learning and using digital tools
    • A strong written communicator
    • Respectful of confidential and sensitive information
    • Willing to ask questions when instructions or priorities are unclear
    • Passionate about supporting girls, sports, leadership, or community-based nonprofit work

Experience with Google Workspace, Canva, spreadsheets, CRMs, project-management tools, or nonprofit administration is helpful but not required.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Direct experience working alongside the founder of a growing nonprofit
    • Exposure to nonprofit leadership, fundraising, marketing, programming, and operations
    • Opportunities to build administrative and project-management skills
    • Professional references based on successful performance
    • The opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to expanding sports opportunities for girls
