    Description

Fund the Work That Lasts: Grants & Development Volunteer

If you've ever turned a "maybe" into a "yes" from a grant reviewer or a donor, you know how much one relationship can be worth. We need someone who can do that for women veterans, all year, not just at events.

Invisible Warriors supports women veterans nationwide, run lean, with its in-person work based in Alabama. Events bring energy in bursts; development brings the steady support that keeps programs running between them. That's this role, and it's the difference between a good year and a sustainable one.

    What you'd actually be doing:

    • Research grants that fit our work and help hit the deadlines

    • Draft grant applications, appeals, thank-yous, and donor updates

    • Build and keep relationships with individual donors and local partners

    • Keep donor records organized so nothing and no one slips through

Who we're looking for: you've done fundraising, grant work, or development, or you're a strong, organized writer who's comfortable making an ask and following through. You don't have to be a veteran. Neither is our founder.

The commitment: a few hours a week, steady, with some flexibility around grant deadlines. Mostly remote. One honest ask: if you can't keep up with deadlines and follow-through, please don't apply. In development, a missed deadline is a missed grant, and that money was going to reach women who are counting on it.

Why it's worth your time: the support you raise goes straight to the women we serve, and you'll be able to point at exactly what your work paid for.
