Meet TJ! He is friendly, helpful, respectful, and open-minded with friends and at home. He volunteers with a Technical Relief Organization and Firefighters. These activities show him how to work in a team, be responsible, and stay calm in tough situations. He also enjoys sports (especially wakeboarding) and is excited to try American football. TJ is interested in politics and learning about how different political decisions can make life better or worse for a society. At home he does his own laundry and household chores. TJ likes to cook outdoors and is excited to taste American BBQ with you!

Why host with AFS?
With over 75 years of experience and 100 years of history, AFS is a leader in international high school exchange. One thing that sets us apart is our network of almost 3,000 volunteers throughout the U.S. Many of our volunteers have hosted international exchange students or studied abroad with AFS. These local volunteers support families, students, and schools in gaining the most from their hosting experience.
Extend Your Family
Host families often develop close relationships with their student’s family, and many find opportunities to visit them long after they’ve returned home.
