    Description

    Urban Angels Housing and Development Center is seeking a dedicated Grant Research & Grant Writing Volunteer to help identify funding opportunities that support our mission of providing transitional housing and support services for pregnant teens and young mothers.

    Urban Angels is working to create safe housing, mentorship programs, and life-skills training to help young mothers build stable futures for themselves and their children. Grant funding is an important part of helping our organization grow and expand services within the Detroit community.

    We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in nonprofit development, research, or grant writing and would like to contribute their skills to a meaningful cause.

    Volunteer Responsibilities

    • Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
    • Help organize grant deadlines and application requirements
    • Assist with drafting or editing grant proposals
    • Maintain a list of grant opportunities that align with Urban Angels’ mission
    • Support the preparation of supporting documents for grant applications

    Preferred Skills

    • Strong research and writing skills
    • Interest in nonprofit development or fundraising
    • Attention to detail and organization
    • Experience with grant writing is helpful but not required

    Time Commitment

    Approximately 3–5 hours per week, flexible schedule.

    Impact

    Your work will directly help Urban Angels secure funding needed to provide housing, resources, and support to vulnerable young mothers and their children.
