Volunteers will have the opportunity to go out in the community and engage with clients one-on-one. Each volunteer will be assigned a client to work with over the course of a one-year commitment. Volunteers visit their clients, document changes, and advocate for their client's needs and wishes. Volunteers work closely with guardianship staff to ensure that clients are well-advocated for and continuity of care is achieved. While many clients have stable circumstances, volunteers are able to provide a friendly face and warm company while also monitoring a client's environments, progress, and needs.
Please contact our Program Director Kayla Shifley, MSW, CCFP at kayla@inguardian.org with questions or to start the application process. Indiana Guardianship Services, Inc. has opportunities in LaPorte and Porter Counties for volunteering, so reach out today. Your dedication and commitment is an integral part of what we do.
