    Description

Become a Cultural Ambassador: Visit Schools and Share Your Culture

Did you grow up outside of the United States?

Do you want to share your culture with elementary school children?

We have an opportunity for you!

Become a Cultural Ambassador with the Cultures in the Classroom Program, an enrichment program that promotes cross-cultural awareness and understanding among 3rd to 5th grade students in San Diego.

As a Cultural Ambassador, you will visit schools to share what everyday life, culture, and customs in your home country are like and what it was like growing up there. We have a standard slideshow full of vivid images, and you will work with our team to add your content based on your own experience.

We are looking for volunteers who have:

    • First-hand experience living in another culture and attending school.
    • Strong interest in working with children.
    • Excellent presentation and English skills.
    • Availability during the school day in different areas of San Diego.
    • A willingness to commit to 3 to 5 (or more!) presentations during the 2026-2027 school year.
    • Agree to a TB test and school background check (costs will be reimbursed).

You will receive training on presenting to school-age children and support during the classroom sessions.

The Worldview Project has a wonderfully diverse staff who work on a variety of ongoing projects. When you write to us, please detail your background, education, interests, and experiences. We look forward to receiving your application and thank you for your interest in The Worldview Project!
