Role Overview:
The Operations & Compliance Training Specialist will ensure our volunteers are fully equipped, confident, and aligned with our organization’s standards. In this role, you will directly train organization leaders on operational frameworks and compliance boundaries, technology tools (like Google Drive), and essential legal and safety boundaries. Your goal is to. Additionally, you will brief and equip the HR onboarding team, ensuring they know exactly what critical information, technology rules, and boundaries must be communicated to incoming volunteers. Your goal is to create a seamless flow of knowledge that protects the organization's .
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Onboarding: Design and facilitate training on core organizational processes, ensuring all team members understand how the organization functions day-to-day.
- Technology Empowerment: Create simple training on the Google Drive ecosystem, ensuring volunteers know how to navigate the platform, find information, and manage their day-to-day digital tasks.
- Document Rule Adherence: Teach volunteers how to properly submit documents and guide them on how to strictly abide by the organization's document governance rules (such as folder structures, permissions, and naming rules managed by Operations).
- Compliance & Risk Management: Clear up the "do's and don'ts" of the organization. Deliver training on safety protocols, data privacy, liability rules, and what volunteers can and cannot do while representing the organization.
- Training Materials: Develop and organize training materials and references to help volunteers retain information without incurring any organizational costs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Clear Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to translate compliance regulations or technical steps into friendly, easy-to-understand language.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets) and an understanding of file-sharing settings.
- Educator: Experience in training, teaching, coaching, or onboarding people with varying levels of technical skill.
- Process-Driven: Strong ability to learn existing operational workflows and champion them so others follow them accurately.
- Mission-Driven: A passionate understanding of volunteer dynamics and a desire to support a community-focused organization.
- Minimum 6-month commitment preferred; approx. 5–10 hours per week.
