About PromiseStudios | Creative Storytelling & Media Production
PromiseStudios is MAP’s creative division responsible for film, animation, podcasts, illustration, visual storytelling, and media production. The division develops original content designed to educate, inspire, and emotionally connect with audiences across platforms.
Role Overview
MAP is seeking an Animated TV Series Creator to help develop original animated series concepts, characters, worlds, and storylines for mission-driven entertainment and storytelling projects.
This role focuses on transforming ideas into fully imagined animated experiences—developing stories that can evolve into episodic content, educational media, short films, or long-form animation projects.
The ideal candidate is imaginative, collaborative, and passionate about storytelling through animation, character development, and visual narrative.
This is a creative development and worldbuilding role focused on storytelling, originality, and long-term creative vision.
Core Responsibilities
Animated Series Development
- Develop original animated TV series concepts and story worlds
- Create compelling characters, settings, themes, and story arcs
- Help shape episodic structure, tone, and creative direction
Storytelling & Creative Writing
- Write treatments, story concepts, outlines, and creative pitches
- Collaborate with writers and illustrators to expand narratives
- Support development of emotionally engaging and meaningful stories
Worldbuilding & Character Design Collaboration
- Work with illustrators and animation teams to visually develop characters and environments
- Help ensure consistency across story, visual identity, and tone
- Contribute ideas for visual storytelling and audience engagement
Creative Collaboration
- Collaborate with voice actors, audio teams, and production contributors
- Participate in brainstorming, story development, and creative reviews
- Support alignment between animation projects and MAP’s mission
Mission-Aligned Entertainment
- Develop stories that reflect imagination, empathy, belonging, resilience, and hope
- Ensure storytelling remains dignity-centered and emotionally authentic
- Help create content that children, youth, and families can meaningfully connect with
Qualifications
Required
- Strong storytelling, creative writing, or animation concept development skills
- Ability to develop original characters, stories, and worlds
- Creative imagination and collaborative mindset
- Strong communication and idea presentation ability
- Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values
Preferred
- Experience in animation, screenwriting, storyboarding, comics, or media production
- Familiarity with animated television storytelling structures
- Experience writing treatments, scripts, or episodic concepts
- Interest in educational, family-centered, or emotionally meaningful storytelling
Commitment
- Volunteer creative leadership role
- Approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Minimum 6-month commitment required
- Remote / hybrid collaboration
